Taking a short holiday is really exciting! We want it to be special, so we make it all about you. You can stay at our places or choose from hotels, resorts, Airbnb, or even quick day trips.
With our Short Term Accommodation (STA) package, we help plan activities you love, like going to the beach, seeing a movie, going to a music festival, or doing your favourite things. It’s all your choice!
STA, also called Respite, is like a fun break from your usual routine. You get to meet new people, try and learn new things. Plus, it can give your parents or caregivers a little break too, depending on your situation.
Sometimes called Respite, Short Term Accommodation (STA) is an NDIS-funded service that allows you to live away from home for a short period of time. This service is designed to provide people with a disability, injury or illness a break from their formal and informal support networks, to experience new things and learn new skills in a safe and welcoming environment. This service can also be used to give parents and carers a short break from their caring responsibilities.
Generally you do not need funding for Short Term Accommodation put into your NDIS plan. NDIS participants may use funding from the Core budget flexible on supports like Short Term Accommodation if it helps you pursue your goals. If you’d like to use your Core Support funding flexibly to access STA but you’re not sure how to do so, please contact us and we would be happy to help.
Depending on your circumstances and level of support, you can access our STA & Respite services for up to 14 days at a time, up to a limit of 28 days per year. You can also use your funding flexibly to attend day trips with a support worker for example, or to attend a function or event overnight with supports.
If you have a significant and permanent disability, injury or illness that affects your daily life, you may be eligible to access the NDIS.
