Help to find and maintain a place to live
Need assistance in your current home, or need to find a new one?
We can provide support and guidance to help you find accommodation that is appropriate for your circumstances, or improve the circumstances in your current home.
If you have a current NDIS plan with approved funding for ‘Improved Living Arrangements’ under your capacity building supports category, you may be eligible to access a range of our supports.
Our Improved Living Arrangement supports may include helping you to apply for a rental, meeting tenancy obligations or ensuring the home and area you’re living in is appropriate to your needs. We’re here to help ensure you’re well connected with other supports and providers so you have choice and control over how you want to live your life.

Improved Living Arrangement Support
Depending on your goals and circumstances, we can help you access temporary or permanent housing. Whether you’re self funded or need help connecting with other funded housing programs, we can help you navigate the process so you have a suitable place to live.
Help Applying for Rental Properties
If you’re new to renting or simply need a bit of assistance, our support staff can help you find and apply for a suitable rental property in an area of your choice.
Navigating Rental Agreements
We can work together with both you and your potential landlord to design a rental agreement that’s suitable for both parties. Our friendly support workers can also help you raise and identify issues that need to be raised with your landlord, such as maintenance around the property.
Help Meeting Tenancy Rules
Every house has different tenancy rules, some of which can be confusing. We can help you understand these and meet your obligations so you can live comfortably in your home.
Shared Accommodation Arrangements
If you require additional support or you’re interested in entering shared accommodation, we can help connect you with your local housing organisation or a registered Supported Independent Living (SIL) provider to ensure your needs are met.
What is Improved Living Arrangements?
Out of the three primary categories in an NDIS plan, Improved Living Arrangements falls under the Capacity Building category.
We can give advice and help facilitate your move into a new home or supported living environment by connecting you with housing providers or our other partners to ensure you feel comfortable and independent.
It’s important to note that we only coordinate these services and do not provide housing services ourselves.
How do I get funding for Improved Living Arrangements?
To access capacity building and improved living arrangements funding, it’s important you accurately describe your current living arrangement and how a new or improved arrangement would improve your quality of life. This should be done during your initial NDIA meeting (or in your annual plan renewal meeting).
As with most other application processes under the NDIS, it’s a good idea to gather as much evidence as possible from your GP or other medical professional to support the description of your circumstances. For Improved Living Arrangements, this may include details about restricted mobility impeding your ability to catch public transport as an example.
