Breakthru Selected to Deliver Inclusive Employment Australia Program

Breakthru, part of Royal Rehab Group, is proud to announce it has been selected by the Department of Social Services to deliver services under the new Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program.

Starting 1 November 2025, Breakthru will provide IEA services across the following employment service areas:

  • New South Wales: Canterbury-Bankstown, Central Western Sydney, Central Coast, Macarthur, Lower Hunter, Nepean, and Northern Sydney
  • Queensland: Cairns, Townsville, and North Brisbane

IEA represents a major shift in how disability employment support is delivered. The program places individuals at the heart of service design, offering flexible, tailored support aligned to each person’s skills, interests, and long-term goals. With a strong focus on choice, control, and sustainable outcomes, IEA goes beyond job placement—it’s about helping people build meaningful, lasting careers.

“We are proud to be part of this important national initiative and to continue our long-standing commitment to inclusive employment,” said Matt Mackay, CEO of Royal Rehab Group.

“The program brings a fresh focus to long-term outcomes, inclusion, and real opportunities for people to thrive in the workplace,” added Peta Maskell, Executive Director, Disability Services, Breakthru.

Through IEA, Breakthru will work closely with individuals to:

  • Build confidence and job-readiness skills
  • Explore and access suitable employment opportunities
  • Stay successfully employed in inclusive, supportive workplaces

Breakthru also recognises the vital link between wellbeing and employment, ensuring holistic support throughout each person’s journey.

With this expanded reach across New South Wales and Queensland, Breakthru is excited to connect more people to meaningful work and to collaborate with employers in building stronger, more inclusive communities.

“We know that meaningful employment can have a powerful impact on a person’s life,” said Ms Maskell. “IEA gives us the opportunity to support more people and help build integrated workplaces across the country.”
