As of November 1st 2025, IEA takes over from the Disability Employment Services (DES) program. It continues to support people with disabilities, injuries, and health conditions as the Australian Government’s new disability employment program.
Support is now also available for people who may be able to work only a few hours each week, as well as for those not receiving income support payments from Services Australia.
To be eligible for IEA services, you must meet these criteria:
*This criterion does not apply to: Ongoing Support (Work Assist) participants, supported employment undertaken by NDIS participants, or participants in the Disability Employment Continuity of Support program.

There is no cost for job seekers to access these services. The IEA program is fully funded by the Australian Government, so you can receive support at no expense.
