Background

Our Services

If you have an existing NDIS plan, then you may be eligible to access our psychology or counselling services under Improved Daily Living supports. Psychology may also be a directly stated support in your NDIS plan. If you don’t have a plan, we also offer fee for service and payment plan options to ensure you can get the help you need when you need it.

Anxiety and Depression

Both anxiety and depression are normal emotions that we all experience at some point in our life. It’s when these emotions hang around for an extended period of time that we begin to lose control.

Fortunately, breakthru have a dedicated team of psychologists and counsellors who can help you identify symptoms, triggers and causes of your distress, and work with you get back on the path toward a healthy frame of mind.

Anger Management

Like many emotions, anger is a completely normal reaction to have, especially when we’re feeling threatened. It’s when you begin to feel angry on a frequent basis – even when you’re not being threatened – that it starts to make life difficult.

With help from our friendly psychologists & counsellors, we can help you identify why you feel angry in certain situations, and work towards new ways that you can release your anger or frustrations safely.

Individual Counselling

No matter who you are or where you come from, it’s important to have someone you can confide in. For many of us this means friends or family, but sometimes they can’t always empathize or provide the best advice about your current situation.

breakthru offer one-on-one psychology or counselling sessions so you can talk about your emotions, thoughts and experiences in confidence. We’ll help you deal with past trauma, and plan for the future.

Group Counselling

Having access to like-minded people who have shared your experiences can not only give you confidence, but also a feeling of support and belonging.

Our therapists host regular group counselling sessions, where everyone has an option to contribute to the discussion and share their thoughts and experiences on a range of topics, from anxiety and depression to anger management and more.

General Counselling

When you need help, it’s hard to know exactly where to start. It’s often difficult to even understand what’s going on, let alone put your concerns into words.

We want everyone to live a happy, fulfilling life, so you can enjoy time with family, friends or doing activities that you enjoy. With our general psychology & counselling services, we can help you develop coping skills for all of life’s challenges, identify your personal goals and create lasting relationships.
